Lets back up a few years. After receiving my Bachelor of Music degree from Oklahoma City University, I also did some post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. I have worked professionally as an actress, singer, and dancer. Additionally, I taught for many years in the Artist-in Residence program, as well as in a private studio. I have directed Opera and Music Productions for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and Oklahoma Christian University in Edmund. I have even toured an original one-woman show through the Oklahoma State Touring Program. As far as professional affiliations important to St. Francis, I am certified as in Kodaly I music instruction, and a member of the Texas Music Educators Association. My hobbies include oil painting, playing cello, knitting and petting cats! Im also a leader in the Childrens Program for Bible Study Fellowship. I strongly believe that music is a gift from God given for our enjoyment, and given for us to return to God by making music for others. All students play an essential role in music whether as a singer, drummer, instrumentalist, composer, dancer, or as a member of an appreciative audience. My goal as a teacher is to help each child to discover his or her unique musical voice. |

I am the Music Teacher at St. Francis School; and I've been here over three years, enjoying my greatest thrill ever as a teacher. Second to being at St. Francis, my most enjoyable teaching experience was a recent summer spent teaching music to teenage girls in Jos, Nigeria, Africa. They probably taught me as much as I taught them!
