I graduated from University of Texas with a Bachelor of Schience degree in Education. I taught for eleven years in Austin Independent School District, and seventeen years ago I became the Librarian at St. Francis School. It has been exciting to watch and help St. Francis grow and evolve over the years. During my time at St. Francis, I have also taught Middle School Language Arts, Social Studies, Speech, and Drama. For the past ten years I have worked in early morning pre-care. I am also the contact person for our Federal Grants that are administered through AISD. Some of those duties include: arrranging teacher training and workshops, selecting and ordering library books, and attending meetings that pertain to the grants. I love getting hugs from the younger children. I love the spark of excitement I see on an older kid's face when I direct him or her to the perfect book. And I love looking up from reading aloud to see the whole class enthralled with the story. I find it especially rewarding to watch the children grow and mature. Few teachers have the opportunity to work with the same children from Pre-K through 8th Grade. I feel privileged to be a part of your children's lives. |

I grew up here in Austin. I have always enjoyed reading and, even as a child, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My husband and I have five children, ages 22 34. We have two grandsons. We live in what was my grandmother's house in Hyde Park, and we are both very much involved in our church.
