I have taught at St. Francis since 1985, the year we opened the school. From first grade, to third Grade and now Pre-K. I have the privilege of teaching and learning from a very “diverse” student population. My students have come from Japan, China, India, Albania, Scotland, England, Turkey, and Mexico; as well as other parts of South and North America. My hobbies include gardening and bird watching. I bring personal lessons learned to the classroom where my students can experience “hands on” science and can learn to respect nature’s treasures. My Favorite websites are www.naturesociety.org and www.monarchwatch.org . Presently I’m working on a study of Purple Martins. My goal for St. Francis Pre-K is building a firm foundation including social, academic, gross, and fine motor skills. Skills to benefit each individual student entering kindergarten or first grade. I would like our students to leave Pre-K with the love of books, learning, and nature -- and to have a headstart on a good set of values. |
