When St. Francis School moved to the Huntland campus in 1995, we had 125 students. Today, 15 years later, we have reached our capacity of 400 students. As we maintain our commitment to serve each individual student and to fulfill our mission of “excellence without exclusivity,” we now turn our attention to the final stage of our multi-year campus improvement project. Since we started in 2004, we have completed Phases I & II, the Ben and Melanie Barnes Gymnasium and annex, which gave us outstanding athletic facilities, as well as classroom and office space. It is now time to complete the project by adding space to the Doug Laycock Academic Building on Huntland Drive. We have always utilized all of our resources to meet the needs of our students, but particularly now that we’ve reached capacity, we must create more space for each student to excel. We need your help to complete this much-needed project.
The heart of St. Francis’s mission is the development of the individual child. St. Francis students shape their own environments and speak in their own voices -- we do not produce “cookie cutter” students. St. Francis is committed to small classes taught by master teachers using tailored curricula, and this nurturing environment allows students to use their own intelligence to advance personal learning. Now we need more physical space so that we may maintain our commitment to individual learning through small class sizes.
