"Around the World" Gala raises $58,000 for St. Francis School!
St. Francis families and friends gathered at the UT Alumni Center on April 4, 2009, to celebrate the school and raise funds needed for the education of all of our students. Volunteers worked countless hours to make the evening memorable for all. This year's theme, "Around the World," took guests from Havana to Gstaad to Marrakesh to London to Paris - all in one glorious evening! A silent auction and music from "The LPs" made for an enjoyable cocktail hour before a delicious seated dinner. Guests were entertained by a live auction and a one-man show performed by Jaston Williams of "Greater Tuna." The night ended with dancing and drinks on the patio.
Thank you to all who attended and supported this event. We sincerely thank this year's committee for all their hard work - Le Popov, Karisa Davis, Jeanice Mullen, Polly McLean, Ann Denkler, Rebecca Yerly, Anna Lee, Anita Price-Ashton, Mari Hawn and Sheila Skaggs.
St. Francis receives $20,000 grant from the George and Fay Young Foundation.
St. Francis has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the George and Fay Young Foundation to be used toward student scholarships. In order to maintain its economic diversity, St. Francis awards a substantial amount of scholarships to students each year --- $375,000 for the 2007-2008 school year alone. The gift from the George and Fay Young Foundation allowed St. Francis to supplement this funding.
