"Building for the Future" Campaign
Exciting things are happening at St. Francis School! Construction began in November 2004 on a new full-size gymnasium on property across Twin Crest Drive from the main St. Francis facility. The gym is the first phase of a multi-year “Building for the Future” campaign that will add a new full-size gymnasium, thus freeing up space now occupied by the existing (less than half-size) gymnasium. With that newly available space, we will add seven new classrooms, including an elementary science lab and a language lab, plus tutoring rooms, a cafeteria/multipurpose space, Middle School restrooms, and a Faculty Center. The proposal also includes playground improvements and track improvements.
The whole project is expected to cost approximately $1.525 million. These improvements will be built entirely with donated funds, as they become available. Lead gifts to the campaign have provided funds for the first phase of gym construction. Approximately $490,000 has been raised as of December 2004, including gifts from parents, board members, local businesses, and grants from The M.D. Anderson Foundation and The Bernard and Audre Rapoport Foundation.
Fundraising efforts are ongoing for this campaign.
