School Curriculum

The Reading and Language Arts Learning Center

The Center provides intervention for both elementary and middle school students who need to accelerate their reading abilities or need to develop other areas of language abilities, including written expression. Additionally, we address the needs of students whose attention and memory functions may also be affecting their performance in Language Arts. Instructional services are provided during the school day and the Learning Specialist in the Center coordinate with the parents and homeroom teacher in hopes of finding an optimum time the students can miss class or an elective to attend the Learning Center. The Center also provides support to the classroom teachers, helping them meet the needs of individual students and as a liaison between the school and community services, such as Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. We are committed not only to accelerating your child's progress, but also to demystifying their beliefs about their learning difficulties so they may experience greater freedom in pursuing their giftedness.
