My Bio

Hello. My name is Kirsten Brenna. I work in the Learning Center as one of the Learning Specialists. I enjoy working with children of various ages and capabilities helping them to reach their potential.

My specialization is in teaching students with learning differences. I support students in attaining a proficiency in math, reading, spelling and writing skills, as well as providing support in their overall studies. I am a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist and Certified Academic Language Therapist. My training is Orton-Gillingham based, and I am certified in the Scottish Rite Take Flight Dyslexia Curriculum since 2005. I have been privileged to work in the Learning Center for the past 12 years.

Michigan is my original home. Every summer I go back to enjoy the beautiful weather and the natural lakes. I came to Austin in the 80's to attend the University of Texas where I earned my BA in English. I am a mom of 2 daughters and 1 son. During my time off, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and golf. I am a proud Longhorn and especially love to attend the basketball games! Hook 'Em!

Come by and check out the Learning Center. If you have any questions, feel free to send an email.
