My Bio

I come from a family of teachers. It took a while to admit that I was a teacher, too. Along the way I was a violinist, studied history and ethnomusicology, worked in publishing, and had two children. Some of my happiest childhood memories are of all the books I've read, backpacking in Western Montana, and just playing in the dirt. I'm a kid at heart.
St. Francis is a magical place and I'm so glad to be a part of it. I'm here to help students with reading and writing. I want students to realize that no matter what your brain and body are like, words and language belong to you.

Duncan is my big black service dog. He can't be petted when he has his red vest on. During the school day, his favorite thing is to be ignored kindly.
