MELISSA WALKER

Melissa has been a member of the St Francis community since 2012 when her oldest son Mason started 3rd grade after being diagnosed with Dyslexia.  Today, thanks to the brilliant support of the learning center, Mason devours books.  Her youngest son Knox started kindergarten in 2013.  Knox is currently in 7th grade and is thriving.  It is not lost on Melissa the impact the St Francis community has had on her family.  She will always be grateful to Barbara for her leadership and for creating an environment for each student, with a focus on inclusion, compassion, accountability, and kindness. 

Melissa moved to Austin in 1999 after living in NYC as a marketing executive for Adidas America.  In Austin, she joined a team of entrepreneurs that developed a software platform designed to support underserved populations throughout the US and Mexico with financial literacy programs and practical tools to help the unbanked.  After NetSpend went public, she focused her energy on developing REV Worldwide.  REV’s charge was to redefine global financial services for the underserved.   Melissa managed global operations teams and manufacturing projects in nine countries and seven languages.  Currently, she supports various companies with their marketing program development and execution. 

On the personal side, she enjoys traveling with her partner Susan and their boys, seeing live music, and spending time with their big 'ol Ridgeback Rusty.
