Mr. Hale leads us through some mindful exercises to help us enjoy the book \"I Am Peace, A Book of Mindfulness\" by Susan Verde. Dr. Overdorff reads the book aloud and we all enjoy participating in mindfulness when the bell rings.

Good morning everybody will you please repeat after me may we be filled with loving kindness... may we be filled with loving kindness. May we be healthy may we fight to right the wrongs around us... may we fight to right the wrongs around us may we be at peace...may we be at peace.  As we now bring fire to the candle with making them glow with light and we also been fire of love to this time of prayer and worship. Don't be worried or be anxious give thanks for what you have and let God's peace stand guard over your thoughts and feelings. Good morning Saint Francis we have an interesting presentation for you this morning and it's going to involve at the beginning some participation on your part so does everyone how to use the hand-raising button on your Zoom? The lights flash on right now just to make sure we know how to use it so you go to the participants down at the bottom and click on the raise hand icon, good, excellent now that's all on, turn it off. till you click on it to turn it off again bye-bye turn off the hand raising am I turn it off all right so I'm going to ask you some and when you are ready to answer you raise your hand raise your hand if you've ever hugged a tree oh, okay, that's interesting. very good, I'm not surprised. take off your hands, Now raise your hand if you've ever stopped yourself in the middle of something you're doing, quietly felt your feet or your heart, or your breathing have you ever done that? if you have raise your hand. Wow, wow, yes not surprised Take it off. Now, raise your hand if you've ever practiced mindfulness? actually you just did it,  if you don't know what mindfulness is when you just defined as a moment-to-moment awareness of what you're experiencing without judging it if you ever done that, raise your hand that thank you all right turn off your hands take it off again now we're prepared a story that Dr. Overdorff is going to read to us and when you sound in the story like for you to close your eyes feel your feet feel your heartbeat and feel your breath enter and exit your body when you hear the next Bell open your eyes and will continue get it right now okay ready excellent one way to make sure you're feeling your feet you might wiggle your toes so during the story when you hear the bell ring you'll close your eyes feel your feet your heart and your breath until you hear the bell ring again and then you'll open all right Dr. Overdorff we're ready to read the book alright thank you Mr. Hale the book we have for you today just called I am peace a book of mindfulness by Susan Verde and the Arts by Peter Reynolds there are times when I worry about what what happened next and what happened before the thoughts in my head are like a Rushing Water and I feel like a boat with no anchor being carried away I give myself myself some moments and I take a breath and then I tell myself it's alright I feel the ground beneath my feet and I study myself and start to notice the here and now my thoughts begin to settle my mind begins to clear I am peace I can watch my worries gently stop and disappear I let things go I can say what I feel inside out loud I know myself I can kindness with others I make a difference I can hug a tree and thank it for its beauty and strength I connect to Nature I watch the clouds make shapes against the sky and I know Wonder I can taste and smell and touch here and see what is all around me I use my senses I can feel my breath fill my whole body I tune in to me now the water is still I have found my anchor and everything is alright I don't need to worry about before or after I am in this moment I am peace now I share my peace with others and hope that it is carried away to those who need it and I dream we are p remember this that you are wonderful you are special you are peace may we focus on this day in this moment Beauty and goodness moments of pain may we show ourselves and others kindness and compassion today I hope everyone has had a really good week whether you were learning from home are you learning in school it was really nice to see so many new faces back this past week though and she felt the great one mask-wearing and keeping 6 feet apart, we've always got some poetry on Wednesday mornings and I was thinking this morning you know when you're in that mindful state and you're seeing your feeling the whole world around you that is an excellent time to write a poem and we had a fourth graders I come to both this week I haven't seen in awhile and she came and read one of her original work so if you're working on poetry in your classes it is the perfect opportunity to come share it there's nothing like reading your poem for the rest of the world to see on Wednesday at 7:40 in my zoom room and read some poetry thank you very much Ms Porter and I'll jump on so what Mr. Parker was saying April is poetry month Mister Parker and so our last Chapel of the month in April is we're going to have you read your poetry so if you're interested in reading her poetry contact I would say contact mr. Parker cuz he can coordinate all of that we would love to have you share your poetry Mr. Hale are you willing to lead us in the Prayer of Saint Francis set together our family prayer Lord make me an instrument of your peace where there is hatred let me sow love a funny what is this affair where there is Darkness light where there is sadness Joy take to be consoled as to console be understood as to understand to be loved as to love for it is in giving that we receive it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it that we are born to eternal life have a mindful day Saint Francis love that sign, June
