welcome Saint Francis School Welcome to our very first online Chapel we were gathered together in the gym this order or myself or mr. Hale would offer up a call and response. So please join me in responding be still with loving kindness may we be free from anger may we be healthy and may we find the right always fight to make the world a better place she said she needs to be simple 10 seconds to give to supported me and anxiety was great within me your support brought me joy family are as say Francis might say no thank you for joining us for our second Chapel to see all of you last week driving through in our Chapel parade so this week we're going to actually go within inside and the two questions that I want to express today is our why do we have chapel and what is Chapel well we have Chapel or many races of course everyone has their own reasons but the the purpose for capital is to bring all together do I say a place where we can experience the family in a different way than we do most of the time during the week and so if we do that through a service that has a specific nothing is Pacific way to take us into a place with what we might be able to connect with each other in a different start off not notice right now I'm in the hallway leading into R Chapo and so as we enter it Beach Friday morning will hear quiet explain that lights to walk in and becomes quiet within at the bow this is really amazing for me right now because I seem to be all alone CBS Morning this is a bit of a symbol of what it's like to come into Chapel on a Friday morning this place is filled with entire school and yet we have the opportunity to stick silent and go within and filled both separate and together at the same time we sit facing the front where our chapter alter is and we begin our service with Miss Porter's soccer this morning who comes up to the lectern and stands up and reminds us that we're here for something special something different than every other day of the week when we're together sacred so we listen to what she says and then we remember that a chapel is a small place that within and without so we are our own Chapel it's too inviting us to go into our Chapel we light the candles what are candle lighting prayer which add we bring fire to this making it low with light may we also bring the fire of love this time of prayer and worship so we're reminded that these Sparks of fire represent the is ideal that we are which is love and we have our symbols we lost you audio mr. Hale so we see the altar pieces we have Saint Francis we're reminded that we're here remembering some of the things that his life and and after the after the candles are lit we sing the song to the gift to be simple what's in Texas even deeper into an ideal what does it mean to be simple and then we remembered where in the country is the Pledge of Allegiance where we we remember that we are in a place that's that's Bass with many different types of people worshipping and thinking of all different ways of feeling the sacredness of and then we have a reverse switch to the sacred reading from a sacred texts and then we have our guest speaker which is May today and the speaker comes to talk to us about a specific item that makes us feel how can I bring a new information in this Sacred Space and combined with this to become somehow more aware of my world within and without and then after we get done with the speaker speaker finish has come back and close it with a prayer and then after the prayer we have quiet time time of reflection and we sit there within and we take in what would get the experience and then miss Porter comes out to talk to us during quiet time and then we start coming back out about Chapel birth announcement this is a time for our community to share what we wanted each other to know about what's going on in our family our lives now after the announcement we say together the Prayer of Saint Francis which is an ideal that week why do all that we just experienced in Friday morning Chapel together with this prayer and that's the prayer we sing the song all hail the same Francis a way of expressing our respect for this space display call St Francis school and I have people come back from decades ago that graduated and they still remember there's words to the school song because it moves I'm so deeply within and without and then we walk back out the door to our daily into together at school but are we changed it some way as we walk out this is a question that we can ask our spell and how have we chat well have we been touched by love because if we go within and find our connection to each other not only without but within through our farts that's how we can experience love and when we love together we become a family we're not get the family Under One Roof we're a family under one sky Wheels on the Bus help us live hopefully into the future and face the change if New Beginning help us to set aside unnecessary fears and to recognize our potential help us can you a clean break the Newark you set before us as we start our school year after the end of worship part we have an announcement and this time tell charmstone would tell me about what is happening in the sports program we would have Mister Parker talking about the Poetry Club and the one chance with the big club and you will be hearing about the stuff Club from the dollar store I'm doing this job announcement that just bring us together showing what a community has been doing in the past week I want to give it to happen in the future also like to use this as a bragging time talking about the things that are internal in a school outside and it's great for a whole Community to know about it when somebody's got the belt in karate it's great to talk about you with somebody has won an award for debating the burn out there with the family that we are at Saint Francis so each week at the end of our Chapel service Miss Porter and the chapel helpers that have helped us up front with our prayer anniversary to candles we leave the Prayer of Saint Francis together as a community and this is a very Bittersweet moment for me because that's one of my very favorite parts of Chapel each week we're all together in one room together and saying this prayer but I realized that even though we're here and zoom and in this space we can still say this prayer together so I'm going to read the Prayer of Saint Francis and I hope every single one of you at home will read along with me Lord make me an instrument of your peace where there is hatred let me sow love where there is injury pardon where there is doubt Faith where there is despair hope where there is Darkness light and where there is sadness Joy grant that I may not so much seek to be add to consult to be understood as to understand to be loved as to love for it is in giving that we receive it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life and after we say that prayer we end every Chapel with our school song Thank you for being with us today thank you have a beautiful day
